Chamomile Tea Pairing With Food

Placesetting
Not only do I enjoy chamomile tea benefits to my health, but I also love the taste. The initial flavor is floral and mellow and it leave a slight pineapple after taste. Many teas have high notes and low notes just as any fine wine would. Wine is often paired with food because of their complimentary qualities that accent eachother... so why not tea?

Because of the health benefits of tea, many are taking note and are choosing tea as their beverage of choice with their meals. Tea, like wine, can be paired with food to make your dining experience more enjoyable. Tea is a delicate beverage and you do not want to overpower your tea with other flavors. One of the benefits of tea is that there are so many types of tea that you have a lot of choices.

The Origins of Indian Tea

The benefits of tea have been enjoyed throught India for the longest time, but have you ever wonder what the origins of tea production were, and how India became the leading power house in tea production and exportation?

Long before the commercial production of tea started in India in the late 1830s, the tea plant was growing wild in the jungles of north east Assam. In 1598, a Dutch traveller, Jan Huyghen van Linschoten, noted in a book about his adventures that the Indians ate the leaves as a vegetable with garlic and oil and boiled the leaves to make a brew.

The origins are interesting to say the least! For the full rundown check out the Tea Muse.

Dr. H Talks About Chamomile Benefits

Many of us use chamomile tea as a sleep aid. Dr. H of Philly.com talks about how there has never been a true study to look into if this claim is in fact true!

Chamomile tea has been described for years as a relaxing, noncaffeinated herbal tea. I'm happy that you find it beneficial. It may surprise you to learn that there have been no human studies to date that can verify the anecdotal claims made by chamomile tea drinkers like yourself.

Although there is a lack of data from studies, I think the millions of tea drinker can attests to its calming properties. I for one think this study should be undertaken; the results would be very interesting! To read more (and to learn about chamomile's antibacterial qualities) check out Philly.com.
